UNION BRIGADE
The Union Brigade of the CWRS is made up of Four Units.
Each Unit having different histories, uniforms, missions and requirements; inquire of any or all of these Unit Leaders before you choose the Unit you'd like to join. Men and Women alike, age 14 and over, are welcome to "Join the Cause" and participate on the "battlefield".

All equipment used by re-enactors is individually and personally owned and maintained. However, new recruits may be able to temporarily borrow equipment, depending on the "stores" of a particular Unit. Check with the Unit Leader to determine your immediate needs.
DO NOT PURCHASE EQUIPMENT BEFORE YOU SPEAK TO THE UNIT LEADER
Uniforms, weapons, tents, and equipment can be expensive. Please check with the Unit Leader regarding authenticity before making any large purchases. What may be correct for one Unit, may not be correct for another. We strive for an authentic portrayal of the Civil War era.
WOULD YOU RATHER BE A CIVILIAN THAN A COMBATANT?
There's room for everyone in the CWRS! Families are Welcome in the Union Brigade. Ladies, children and civilian men also play important roles in our re-enactments. You will still need to choose a "Unit" to belong to, but you will be in "support" rather than on the battlefield.
Contact the Unit Leader of your choice before you complete the
application. After an informed decision, PRINT the Membership
Application (link below, right) - complete it by hand, include your check
made out to Civil War Re-enactment Society (or CWRS) and mail it to:
